New job, new apt, new trip

Hey All,

I started my new job in Connecticut and things are going really well. I spent several days visiting friends and family on my drive up here from Texas. I got to see Tamika, a good friend from Peace Corps, in Georgia, my cousin Derek and his fiancee, Erika, in North Carolina, and my very good friend and former roommie, Beth in DC. I spent a lovely New Year's Eve with Beth and Lindsay in DC, playing trivia and watching Rockin' New Year's Eve. Then I arrived at my new home in Stamford, CT. My cousin, Brandy, and her husband, Mark, live just across the sound on Long Island and I headed over there to visit, which was great! I got to see her baby bump and play with their two doggies. Woo hoo!

Last weekend we went down into New York City to meet up with our Aunt Jerri, her husband Steve, and our cousin, Stephanie. We went to see Rent on Broadway on Saturday and then on Sunday, I went to see Hairspray. They were both excellent! We hung out in Times Square and walked up to Central Park and went to Tiffany & Co. and Trump Tower. I think I fell in love with NYC in two short days. I can't wait to go back, so somebody come visit so that I have an excuse! And I just moved to a new apartment, which is so cute!!! And I have the space for visitors, so come on up, or down, depending on where you are! : )

For two weeks in February, I was down in Mexico for work. It was great to be in the field and getting to know one of the programs in my portfolio. I stayed in Mexico City, but was also able to visit Guadalajara and Villahermosa in the state of Tabasco. It was really, really interesting learning about the partners programs and all the aid that they provide. I can't wait to head down to Nicaragua at the end of March. I am going for work, but I am going to head down about 5 days early to go visit my Peace Corps town again.

When I get pics from my trip to Mexico and of my new apartment, I will post them. Hope that you enjoy the new blog!!
